John Black is a passionate professional. His drive and ambition in business have lead him to manage a number of restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area, including his year long stint as Assistant General Manager in one of the top 10 highest revenue establishments in North America.

In 2011 John was nominated for “Manager of the Year”, while working as Marketing Coordinator – Assistant General Manager at SIRCORP’s Jack Astor’s location in Whitby Ontario. In this role he developed social media strategy, planned and executed an extensive branding program, and teamed with local charities to raise upwards of $75,000 at events imagined and executed by John’s team.

Previous to his experience in hospitality John Black could be heard on radio stations from Nova Scotia to Trinidad and Tobago. As a respected reporter for Skywords Media, he was relied on daily to keep GTA listeners informed of top news stories and traffic snarls.

John was on the air at CFCO 92.9 on February 1, 2003 during the space shuttle Columbia disaster, and August 14th 2003, the night of the Northeast Blackout. As announcer at Chatham Kent’s oldest and most respected media outlet, he was a part of the team responsible for bringing the latest developments to the listeners, keeping them informed throughout the events and bringing expert opinion by conducting key interviews. Still, John may be best known for his role at Z103.5 assisting with production of the #1 rated and Award winning morning show “Scott Fox + The Z103.5 Morning Show”.

John Black’s passions have always been marketing and technology. He works to stay on the cutting edge, uncovering channels that will make communicating a message both more effective, and more fun. John has  produced digital programming syndicated in four countries (Wavelength.com), as well as a club promotion website targeted toward Durham Region (DurhamClubber.com). While both projects are currently offline, the experience sparked an interest that continues to burn.

Currently John works as Marketing Associate with a Fortune 500 company, while keeping his finger on the pulse of the hospitality industry as a consultant. John also teaches social media seminars where he spreads his passion for grassroots marketing campaigns that create a buzz.
